Senior Rae Odom’s Weird Fears

Senior+Rae+Odoms+Weird+Fears

San Luis Obispo High School senior Rachael Odom, or Rae as many commonly know her, has a plethora of weird fears that Expressions decided to investigate.

The first of the many fears is arm veins, in particular ones that protrude. This seemingly irrational fear plagues her daily life, forcing her to outwardly cringe when these veins are seen.

“People think they’re hot, and I think they’re gross,” said Odom when responding to the recent fad about arm veins.

Her possibly most intense fear, is one of broken bones. There have been multiple instances where tears have been shed due to the overwhelming nature of this phobia. I personally have experienced the tears, after setting Odom’s wallpaper to a broken arm and then seeing the tears come flowing. While upsetting, the irrationality of all of her fears makes them very comical.

“They’re gross,” Odom said.

The final and most bizarre fear is the devastating, terrifying, and absolutely ridiculous fear of lemon curd. While most see this delicious substance as a tasty dessert, Odom sees it as her arch nemesis. The fear of lemon curd dates back many years to overeating some lemon cookies and then proceeding to get the flu afterwards. This disturbing memory has led her to having a very intense fear of anything and everything lemon curd.

“I hate it,” said Odom when speaking on her overwhelming fear of lemon curd.
