Game four of the Cubs-Giants series was played Tuesday at San Francisco’s AT&T Park. The Cubs got the W, winning the series 3-1; they earned four runs in the ninth inning. Before that game the Cubs were up 2-1, with the Giants still hanging on earning a shocking victory on Monday night with a tight score of 5-6 in a total of 13 innings.
Living in San Luis Obispo, it’s easy to find Giants fans. In fact, most people reading this article probably are Giants fans.
Expressions went out to find a Cubs fan and get their thoughts on the series. Luckily, seniors Coleman Godfrey and Zach Wise had something to say.
“It’s so satisfying to see such a great team to finally come together and work as a unit,” said Godfrey. He’s has been a fan of Cubs Baseball for many years.
“My dad and I flew to Chicago for games one and two. It was great to see the Cubs do what we knew they could all year and win this series. On to the next one now!” said Wise.
The Cubs will go on to play the winner of the Washington Nationals and Los Angeles Dodgers series, whose series wraps up on Thursday.
“If the Dodgers bring their bats, we will win the game, if the Nationals bat against us like they did last game, we will lose.” said math teacher Kristi Fuller, speaking on the game for tomorrow night. The Dodgers baseball program also has many fans here in San Luis Obispo.
“If our offense shows up, we’ll win the game. Our bullpen needs to be solid, too,” said senior Aric Sweeny, who has been a fan all of his life.
Although many San Luis Obispo High School students are more likely to be Giants fans, we still have a few to support the blue.
