San Luis Obispo High School’s baseball team has made it to California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) for the first time in four years.
“This trip to the playoffs was our goal from the beginning of the season. The team as a whole really came together this year and thanks to the leadership of the seniors and the drive from our younger classmen, we were able to obtain our goal. This first playoff appearance in four years is a huge accomplishment for our program and we look forward to competing in CIF in these next few weeks,” said senior Jake Maino.
The team just came off their game against Atascadero last night, sweeping them 5-0. Sophomore catcher Noah Cracknell batted two for three with two runs batted in for the Tigers. Senior Jake Rodgers pitched six innings with no earned runs allowed and three strikeouts.
Varsity baseball currently has an overall record of 22 wins and six losses with a league record of 16 wins and two losses. They are currently first in league.
They are scheduled to play at Atascadero today at 4:30 p.m. Friday night is senior night at 7 p.m. CIF will take place on Thursday of next week; the location is to be determined. Make sure you come out and support our Tigers!
