As the college application and scholarship application season comes to an end, San Luis Obispo High School seniors are encouraged to submit an application to the SLOHS Local Scholarship, due February 16 at 12:45 p.m. The scholarship can be found on the SLOHS website under the counselling tab, and can also be located through Family Connection.
“I think it’s important for young students planning to gain a college education to take the opportunities available to them that benefit them financially,” said senior Ceara Eisworth.
This scholarship process consists of completing forms containing basic information including your name, home address, and email address. In addition to this, there is a list of 34 scholarships from which you can apply, with a brief description of each on the following pages of the application. Although several scholarships do not require more than the supplements already asked for on the local application, few do require transcripts and additional brief essays. Besides these materials, there is a personal statement required by the scholarship, regardless of the scholarships one is applying to.
Make sure to take advantage of this opportunity and turn in your applications to the Career Center.
