San Luis Obispo High School has many students and staff who are thrilled to hear about “The Ultimate Disney Fan Event,” also known as D23. August 9, 10, and 11 were monumental days for Disney fans, as there were almost fifty announcements made throughout the event.
Disney has been around since 1923, so it is said to have its ups and downs, but could this be the change that Disney needed to grow their audience?
“Personally, I think the tradition and sentiment around Disney will help carry it forward for future generations,” said American Sign Language teacher Kristen Nusbaum.
When the D23 event took place, fans expected new films to be released, but Disney is once again producing sequels.
“I think that Disney is having a downfall because they’re producing so many movies. It’s almost like they’re trying to make up for all the time they lost during the pandemic,” said freshman Cadence Flickinger.
Some Disney followers are complaining that recent movies are beginning to seem unfinished, rushed, and unsuccessful. Is Disney going to become no longer relevant?
This program has served generations of fun, memorable films designed for a younger audience. This vast array of entertainment has the potential to bring back the cheer this generation has been losing over time.
“I’m excited for some of the new movies including ‘Moana 2,’ ‘Frozen 3,’ ‘Toy Story 5,’ ‘Zootopia 2,’ and more. I’m glad that they are adding on to more kids’ dreams and keeping the thrill of these animations that we grew up with continued,” said sophomore Gracie Sunata.
Some may see these new releases as “repetitive,” but to some, they’re very nostalgic. This new slate of movies is said to be Disney’s comeback.
The new releases are coming soon, will you be in the theaters for these upcoming films?
