  Poetry Out Loud is a competition to recite poetry which many students at San Luis Obispo High School take part in. The event will be taking place this Thursday from first to third period.

  Each student participating has memorized two poems, one under 25 lines and one over 25 lines. They have selected their poems from the Poetry Out Loud site, providing a variety of stories and perspectives.

  Students in English classes at the time of this event might have the opportunity to spectate. They may also be familiar with the poem memorization assignment, but the people participating in the school-wide event are dedicated to more than the required classwork.

  Poetry Out Loud presents a great opportunity for students to appreciate poems and learn more from literature.

  The audience for this event is a limited group, but the participants deserve encouragement because they are taking on a big competition.

  These students have worked hard to present poetry, which can be a daunting task. Make sure to wish luck to the people you know who are participating!
