Yung Lean and Sad Boys Make Happy Fans

Rapper Jonatan Leandoer Håstad, better known by his stage name Yung Lean, or Yung Leandoer, has been taking the rap game by storm. Earlier this year, he dropped his long awaited debut album “Unknown Memory.” Along with the release of his mixtape, “Unknown Death 2001,” Yung Lean has managed to gather a substantial fan base and cult following.

Not only has Yung Lean influenced the clothing style of people worldwide, he has made a severe impact on San Luis Obispo High School. When asked how Yung Lean has influenced his style, sophomore Nate Thielscher said, “Yung Lean has influenced my entire life, especially my bucket hat game, ever since I started following him.”

“Buckets, all day every day,” said senior Zac Adler. I believe Yung Lean summed himself up best in his song “Hurt.”  “High tech watch/ high tech locked/ broken skies, fantastic fox/ got keys but I’ll never find the lock.” This is Yung Lean saying that even though he may not be what you expect in a rapper, he will find his success in the rap game where others could not even find the “lock.” Though he may be a joke among many, there is no denying his worldwide success. Whether he is waving Arizona Iced Tea around or patrolling in his bucket hat, Yung Lean is an icon.
