San Luis Obispo High School’s Varsity and JV Cross Country teams swept the competition at their recent Saturday meet in Santa Margarita.
“I ran in the boys JV team race against Atascadero, Mission, and King City. It was easy, we won in all categories,” said cross country runner and junior Logan Laxamana.
Other winners include varsity senior Nolan Roemmich and varsity junior Phoebe Drazsnzak. JV winners junior Leila Johnson and senior Silas Buchanan also won first place in their individual races.
“Usually, I race in varsity [but] because I was sick the week before, I raced in JV. That’s challenging because you have to push yourself, but it was fun,” said Johnson.
Last weekend was the mid season league meet in Santa Maria. In terms of support, this meet definitely could’ve had more participation from SLOHS students.
“We would love for students to show up to Laguna Lake Golf Course on Saturday, October 28 as we race for the County Championship,” said math teacher and Cross Country coach Jimmie Johnson.
So Tigers, use some of your free time that Saturday to go to Laguna Golf Course and support our runners, including our very own Arts and Entertainment editor and junior Cate Tucker.
