Most students at San Luis Obispo High School are currently on summer break. Some students, however, are returning to SLOHS to take classes during the summer.

The reasons as to why someone would be in summer school vary. There are students who want to get ahead and take new classes, as well as students who are retaking classes to make up for the credit they have lost.

“There are lots of options and opportunities in the summer school program at SLOHS,” said Assistant Principal Bernardo Salcido.

There are two sessions of summer school. The first session started the week after finals, on June 12, and the second session starts on July 3. Many different classes will be offered.

“SLOHS is offering Government, Economics, United States History, World History, English, Health, Algebra 1, Geometry, Biology, Physical Education, and Creative Writing,” said Counseling Secretary Anthony Aaron.

The most common classes for students trying to recover their grades are core classes.

“I’m taking English and Math over the summer,” sophomore Joshua Reed.

Whatever the reason is for students returning to school over the summer, Expressions wishes them the best of luck.
