Submit the senior graduation survey as soon as possible, and submit to the @slohs2023 Instagram to share post-high school decisions!

  For the seniors of San Luis Obispo, exciting times are approaching. Deciding what to do after high school is a big and difficult decision, and many seniors at SLOHS have already begun to make that decision. Students should fill out the Senior Graduation Survey as soon as they know what their future plans are. 

  The Senior Graduation Survey is a vital tool for counselors, as well as for Expressions. 

  “The graduation survey is primarily for counseling. Expressions worked with the counseling department on this questionnaire, and we wanted to streamline our questionnaire with theirs this year for the 2023 Senior Edition of the paper. Seniors need to fill it out because it gives counseling their accurate statistics of who’s going where every year,” said senior Expressions editor Izzy Nino de Rivera-Krieger.

  The survey asks what Career Technical Engineering paths seniors have completed, post-high school plans, what scholarships seniors received, and whether Expressions can contact seniors regarding their responses. It should take less than ten minutes to complete and each seniors’ contribution is extremely important.

  “This is also a time to celebrate the next chapter in [students’]  lives after high school, and it lets us properly celebrate seniors. It will also be used to gather information for the Senior Recognition Assembly on May 23 when they recognize the students, CTE pathway completers, and what university they’re going to,” said Nino de Rivera-Krieger.

  Along with the survey, seniors also have the opportunity to share their post-high school plans on the @slohs2023 Instagram page. This Instagram page is meant to celebrate seniors, and it is run by the senior Expressions editors. Students can share their decision by direct messaging @slohs2023 with their plans, major (if going to college), and a vertical photo of themselves. 

  “The Instagram is optional for students who want to share their commitment to a place with their classmates, friends, or be found by fellow students going to their college as well. All we need is someone’s name, their post-high school plans or their major and college (and sport if applicable), and their senior picture or a photo they want to submit. It is just a fun way for people to look back after we graduate to see where everyone’s going, and lets underclassmen see the variety of colleges and options out there,” said Nino de Rivera-Krieger.

  This time of life can be scary, confusing, nerve-wracking, and, most of all, exciting for seniors, so be sure to celebrate them! The survey can be accessed through the QR code above or the link below.
