Protein powder is a very big thing for many students to use in their work outs. It’s widely known as a way of gaining muscle and helping your body stay healthy. Its main purpose is to regain the calories and other benefits that were used during a workout. Studies even show that 2 out of 5 (around 46 percent) people in the US use protein powder every day.
“I was a small lad, and then I took protein powder and became a machine,” said senior Alec Manohar.
Protein powder was made in the 1950s and was used to build muscle by professional bodybuilders to get an edge over their opponents. Nowadays people use them just so they can gain more muscle more quickly, and because multiple influencers on a multitude of platforms show that they use protein powder. When people see them using protein powder, they hope that if they use protein powder they’ll be just like them.
“If you take I don’t know, three or four (protein) shakes a day. That’s just terrible for you it is gonna kill your liver and your gonna die by the time your 25,” said Manohar.
Though in a multitude of researches done, it’s actually proven that it can help, but only if done in both moderation and still actually working out. Protein powder and shakes aren’t potions that will magically make people gain muscle, it’s merely some extra help to get in shape, and whether or not it helps them is completely up to how much they work out.
Protein powder is now one of the most used products when working out, with that being said don’t overuse the powder and keep in moderation.
