San Luis Obispo High School offers a wide variety of extracurricular activities. While the athletic program is often in the spotlight, the literal spotlight doesn’t always shine as bright on the performing arts students.
With help from seniors Christian Cuevillas, Erin Chae, and English teacher Brian Moss, the SLOHS Tri-M Music Honor Society hosted a talent show on December 2.
The showcase consisted of several acts including poetry, music, and original songs by chemistry teacher Ryan Ritchie and senior band “Georgey.”
“We wanted to showcase our artistic talent here at SLOHS. Our main goal is to bring music to our community” said senior and president of the SLOHS Tri-M Music Honor Society Erin Chae.
Chae and Cuevillas worked together to organize the event. It became a great opportunity for students and staff to perform.
“It was a blast. Seeing students perform was inspiring and then getting a chance to show our stuff was pretty fun” said chemistry teacher and singer “Ritchie Rich” Ryan Ritchie.
Performing isn’t just about the musicians. It is all about the audience.
“It was really cool. There were a lot of Christmas songs which were fun. Mr. Ritchie was a lot of fun. I loved Georgey and Mr. Moss was really great too,” said senior Dylan Shaouat.
Keep a look out for the next talent showcase from the Tri-M Music Honor Society!
