San Luis Obispo High School Marketplace is making its debut on Thursday, October 28. A rad part of this festival is going to be the live performance by alternative rock band Georgey, founded by three juniors at SLOHS. They are known for their fun and independent style.
Georgey consists of juniors Sophia Campbell, Holly Schmitt, and Zoey Nielson. They will be playing their first gig at 5:00 p.m.
“We are pretty alternative rock, I’d say maybe for this show a little less rock and more chill,” said Campbell.
This gig will also have bass player Kai Winstead jamming with them as well.
Since 2019, Georgey has grown as a group, and as musicians. The pandemic changed the course of the band and their music by holding up their production of current song.
Georgey’s most recent music is the album “Tell All Your Friends” and the single “Stay Up”. This opportunity to play has been greatly supported by TV/Video Production & Digital Photography Teacher Zach Roper. He has been preparing and essentially running this festival alongside the students.
The excitement for this event is building as it inches closer to the grand opening. Make sure to show up, listen to some great music, and watch some amazing films.
