It’s officially Christmas shopping season for students at San Luis Obispo High School, but there’s just one dilemma.
What do people even want for Christmas?
Buying presents can be hard, especially when one doesn’t know what would make the perfect gift.
The SLOHS Expressions staff has created a list for each high school stereotype, and what gifts would be perfect for them.
The athlete: A poster of a favorite sports team, sports gear, and athletic clothing is perfect for any athletic friend.
The sad e-girl/boy: Dying roses, more eyeliner, and yet another striped turtleneck to wear under a t-shirt are essential components of an e-girl or e-boy’s aesthetic.
The art girl/boy: Art supplies are a go-to. Depending on the mediums they work with, any tools would surely be appreciated. Ask if they are low on any paints.
“As an art person myself, and as a friend of fellow art people, some good gifts are things like prints, art books (not tutorials, more like informational), and cool wraps holders for supplies (like a folio, something to carry sketchbooks and pencils together)! Or really anything that speaks to a visual aesthetic they like. I find a lot of artists to support on sites like Etsy, and I tend to buy their prints or ceramics or baubles. Art central SLO has a great selection of art-related things, too!” said senior Olivia Dong.
The music nerd: Booboo Records is a local music store that’s perfect for music lovers of all genres. Band posters, shirts, and records are great. Musicians would also appreciate equipment, such as pedals, drumsticks, amps, and fancy guitar straps.
The gamer: Steam gift cards are great for Steam users. More expensive options include headsets, controllers, and keyboards.
Try to shop local this holiday season. Most of the listed items can be found at downtown stores and small shops. Expressions wishes a happy holiday season!
