The following text is the write up and results of the San Luis Obispo High School Wellness survey given during the first week of Virtual Learning. Over 800 students participated.
SLOHS counselor Shelley Benson wrote out common and unique answers that appear below:
“We hope you enjoy reading through the results of our Welcome Back Survey. We had an incredible & immediate response and a great cross section of grade levels. We learned that our students are Tired and a little Stressed , but they’re also much more Content than we’d imagined and Happy & Hopeful as well.
They’re excited about returning to campus and worried about college applications and losing friends -but over 94% know who to ask for help when they need it.
They prefer communicating with us via email and maybe Zoom. Their Week One Highlights warmed our hearts and reminded us about the importance of human connection. Their Challenges mirrored our own. They may not have the perfect wifi but most are finding it easy to connect. They miss learning in-person and being on our campus. Teenagers often get a bad rap, but we think ours are pretty awesome. They seem a lot like us!
