Often students who graduate from San Luis Obispo High School go on a senior trip. Expressions interviewed students who graduated to see what they are doing this summer.
Expression: Are you going on a senior trip?
SLOHS Graduate Cati Newlon: I already went on a senior trip over Christmas break.
SLOHS Graduate Graysie Perlmutter: Yes I am.
SLOHS Graduate Will Metzger: I am planning to go to Alaska.
Expression: If yes where are you going? If no why aren’t you going?
Newlon: I went to Spain and we did this tour around Spain.
Perlmutter: I am going to Spain with some of my friends from Long Island.
Metzger: I am driving to Alaska with some of my friends.
Expression: Are you paying for your senior trip or is it a present from your parents?
Newlon: My parents went with me, so they paid for all the expenses. It was an early graduation present.
Perlmutter: My grandmother gave me some money but that only covered the flight tickets, so the rest I am paying for myself.
Metzger: I’ll be paying for it myself.
Expression: Why did you choose the place you are traveling too?
Newlon: I’m fluent in Spanish and I love history. And Spain is one of the epicenters of history in the world so it was the perfect combination.
Perlmutter: It has always been a dream of mine to go to Spain so that was why I choose Spain.
Metzger: I just really want to see Alaska and I think it’s going to be really fun to go on a road trip with some of my closest friends.
Expression: Are you a big fan of the food the place you are traveling to?
Newlon: I actually am not a big fan of tapas and other authentic food, it’s too many carbs for me.
Perlmutter: Yes I love Spanish food, it’s definitely one of the reasons why I choose
Metzger: No, that had no influence on our choice at all.
