Many students at San Luis Obispo High School can sympathize with either being or feeling different. These feelings are showed and explored deeply in the show “The Good Doctor”.
“The Good Doctor” is about a surgeon (played by Freddie Highmore) who has both Autism and Savant Syndrome. This means while he has a photographic memory and a knack for good ideas, he also has a problem communicating them to others. This causes problems in his life, especially being in the field of medicine.
Doctor Sean Murphy is judged and treated differently despite his efforts to not be, and it makes for good drama. The show takes place mostly in a hospital where doctors are talking to each other, in what seems like another language. Each episode the cast solves some sort of medical problem and the viewers get to enjoy surgery scenes, patient drama, and best of all, Doctor Sean Murphy’s witty banter.
“I think the concept is really interesting, and the way Dr. Murphy interacts with the other doctors is fun to watch,” said junior Rio Rosecrans.
The combination of humorous, entertaining, and dramatic scenes, make “The Good Doctor” a must see.
“It was recommended by a friend, and as soon as I saw the first episode I was hooked,” said senior Jakob Music.
The show has a gray message and should be shared with everyone.
“Honestly, “the Good Doctor” was the best binge watch of all time,” said junior Greg Armstrong.
