In recent years, San Luis Obispo has had many ice cream and frozen yogurt shops. On May 12 Roll’d opened on Marsh street. Rolld is a place that makes ice cream that is rolld in a spiral. Expressions interviewed 2018 SLOHS graduate Lia Pagel and Britney Vuong on their experience at Roll’d.
Expression: What was the service like?
2018 SLOHS graduate Lia Pagel: Taking orders was quick but there were a lot of people, so I had to wait about 30 min before I got my ice cream .
2018 SLOHS graduate Britney Vuong: A little slow because it was super busy.
Expression: How nice were the staff?
Pagel: The staff was very friendly and polite and helpful when ordering.
Vuong: The staff were friendly and very patient.
Expression: How complex was the menu?
Pagel: There were a lot of different options but it wasn’t too overwhelming.
Vuong: There were quite a few options but everything was the same price and size so it was pretty easy to decide.
Expression: What was your favorite part about the whole place?
Pagel: Watching my ice cream being made.
Vuong: My favorite part was watching my order being made.
Expression: Overall how was your experience and how well would you rate it. Was it expensive?
Pagel: Overall it was a good experience but it was a little expensive. $8 for rolled ice cream.
Vuong: My experience was good, the ice cream was pretty good (4/5 stars) and it was pricey ($8) but the technique required to make it makes it worth it.
