Peter Anthony is a junior at San Luis Obispo High School, who enjoys creating art. He uses contrasting colors and free formed lines to make his art pieces stand out. Expressions sat down with this upcoming artist and asked him a few questions about his artistic lifestyle.
Expressions: What is the main source of inspiration for your art?
Junior Peter Anthony: My inspiration is to create vibrant art that stands out; also art that gives people new views on things. The world needs some color.
Expressions: Which one of your pieces is your favorite? Why?
Anthony: The sunset on mountains painting is my favorite because it expresses my love for realism art, with a splash of creativity.
Expressions: What is your favorite form of art?
Anthony: Acrylic painting and carving wood are definitely my favorite forms of art! These two forms keep my balance for 2D acrylics, and more textural 3D art.
Expressions: What is the most challenging form of art for you? Would you like to try to work on it and improve?
Anthony: The most challenging form of art, in my point of view, is ice sculpting. That stuff is hard, man. But, any challenge I can try and improve on is a blast to try!
Expressions: How often do you like to create pieces?
Anthony: I try to create one fat piece a week. It’s the goal!
Expressions: Are there any artists that inspire your work or do you enjoy doing your own thing more?
Anthony: My favorite artist is DCastri Arts! All his pieces are rad, they carry so much depth and detail! @DCASTROARTS on Instagram.
