Will Tiger Army Truly Never Die this Season?
San Luis Obispo High School Football Team has been crushing their competition throughout the season with a 10-1 record. Last Friday, November 15, the boys played a tough CIF (California Interscholastic Federation) playoff game against Madera and came out on top, winning 49-28. The Tigers are in the CIF playoff semi-finals against Bakersfield Christian High School.
“Our football team’s winning season has felt great. Winning league after 17 years and making it to CIF for the second time in a row is amazing. The only thing better than our winning season is our team fondness for each other. We play for each other and treat each like our family. My love for football is like my love for our team, endless, but also I love it because of the intensity and how great the game is,” said junior and varsity football player Johnny Garcia.
Not only has the football team been winning games this season, but they have grown their bond as a team. This has led the boys to victory and made attending football games on Fridays more intriguing. If the Tigers win against Bakersfield Christian High School on Friday in Bakersfield at 7:00 p.m. they will host the championship game.
“Hearing the cheer of the crowd and celebrating with teammates after a big play reminds me of the moments growing up playing football, and what made me love the game,” said sophomore and varsity football player Blayke Perry.
Wish the SLOHS football team good luck as they head into the CIF semi-finals and remember to congratulate them on their successes this season.
