Many students at San Luis Obispo High School are fans of the legendary, iconic musical artist Elton John. Luckily for all those fans, a biopic of John’s life and career, entitled “Rocketman”, is being released in theatres May 31.
“I’m very excited to see ‘Rocketman’, it seems to be a well-done story with some pretty cool costumes,” said freshman Clio Nelson.
Actor Taron Egerton, who is a rather talented singer as well, will be playing John in the film and singing all his most beloved songs. The film is said to be a sort of “fantasy musical”, that is using John’s songs to tell stories and capture the feelings of the formative moments and years of his life. For those who enjoyed the way Freddie Mercury’s life was portrayed in the recent film “Bohemian Rhapsody”, “Rocketman” is also written in a similar manner.
For fans of Elton John, musicals, or even just fun movies, be sure to check your local theatre this month to see “Rocketman”. If you can’t wait until the end of the month to see this highly anticipated film, Fandango is selling early release tickets for screenings starting May 18.
