With only 348 drive-in theaters left in the United States, San Luis Obispo residents are very fortunate to have one in town. In opposition to a normal movie-theatre, the drive-in provides an overall better experience. If getting to lay out in the back of your car with pajamas on isn’t enough, the drive-in has even more to offer.
“You can talk fairly loudly and no one will get mad at you,” said sophomore Jordan Troy. When you go to the movie theatre, it seems to be that you can’t get away with whispering without someone getting upset.
Also, when you choose the drive-in you, get more out of your money. Going to see just one movie at the theatre becomes quite expensive when accounting for the cost of tickets and food. However, at the drive-in, you’re allowed to bring your own food in and have the choice of staying to see two movies.
“It has a good vibe, I have a lot of good memories of going there when I was younger and I continue to make them now,” said Troy.
Clearly nothing beats the experience of a drive-in movie theater, so go enjoy one of SLO’s hidden gems.
