Pride Fest 2025 lit up the Central Coast with color, joy, and powerful performances from local LGBTQ+ artists, allies, and community members.
Expressions caught up with SLOHS graduate Mars Devereaux, otherwise known as Moxie Stars, not only attended but performed at this year’s festival.
From their own performances, Devereaux shared what made this year’s Pride unforgettable. Whether you’re a longtime supporter or just learning about the celebration, Pride Fest continues to be a space for visibility, unity, and joy.
Expressions: How was pride fest this year?
SLOHS graduate Mars Devereaux: Pride fest was amazing! As someone who performed for the amazing crowd for this year’s pride fest it felt very empowering. Everyone gave me such grace when it came to my performance. People gave me gifts and asked for pictures!
Expressions: How did it feel to be surrounded by people with a similar LGBTQ+ identity?
Devereaux: It’s always an amazing feeling to be surrounded by people I can connect with, Not just interest wise but gender wise. I love being involved with my community.
Expressions: Who would you recommend pride fest to?
Devereaux: I would really recommend it to anyone! It’s so important to share this experience to people who are blindsided by all the bad things. Support local artists and businesses, Drag queens and drag kings!
