Many San Luis Obispo High School students enjoy playing basketball but don’t end up playing on the team. Because of this, the Kermit Basketball League (KBL) was created, and it has taken off.
Expressions was desperate to know why this league had gained so much traction, and the players had a lot to say.
“The KBL is great because we have good organization and a lot of fun stuff planned,” said senior Ezra Nielsen.
Nielsen is one of the best players in the league and is experienced in the game of basketball.
At first, commissioner Milo Nemetz made this league so SLOHS students could have fun playing ball with their friends. However, as the league gained popularity, it became more and more competitive.
“The KBL is very competitive. I’ve made friends. I’ve lost friends. And you know what? I’d do it again,” said junior Justin Toews.
Now the third season is just around the corner, and players couldn’t be more excited. New teams have been formed and students are exhilarated to build chemistry with their teammates.
“I’m excited for the upcoming season because my team is going to dominate and win the championship,” said sophomore Cassius Dowler.
The KBL is an amazing league full of airballs, bricks, the occasional green bean, and good times. Check it out sometime, Tigers!
