Boys Basketball at San Luis Obispo High School season has sadly come to an end, the tigers final game against Hanford ended in a tough loss concluding their season in the first round of playoffs.
Expressions asked players what their most memorable moments from the 2024-2025 basketball season was.
“My favorite moment of the season was definitely beating Mission at home. It was so cool to see the school spirit and everyone coming out to support. It was a really fun environment to play in,” said varsity captain junior Hayden Brandow.
Throughout the season, there were many amazing plays and highlights, but this seems to be a fan favorite from players and students alike. The SLO Town Showdown has been a highly anticipated matchup for many years and continues to amaze students and families who attend.
“I’d say making a game winning three against Thousand Oaks in overtime for sure, that was surreal,” said varsity player sophomore Beau Crew.
Layups are cool, dunks are cool, but a game winning three in overtime, that’s insane! An amazing shot by an unbelievable player, lets just say the tigers are grateful to have Beau Crew for two more seasons.
“I think the best moment in the season was beating Santa Cruz in overtime, the whole team balled out and we got to go back to the hotel and have fun, mess around and check out the town,” said senior Jace Gomes.
Going out of town with your best friends, making memories and playing the sport you love is something that most people take for granted and don’t realise that they’re living their best life at that moment. Losing in the playoffs is never fun, but the returning players will remember that feeling after losing, and they will be back, better than ever and work their hardest to return and show people they’re here to stay.
