  On November 6, 2024, America decided on its new president, sending shockwaves throughout the country. Students of San Luis Obispo High School are no doubt aware of this fact, and many have various opinions on how former president Donald Trump will run the country.

  Although Trump was the president from 2016-2020, it’s still very hard to know for certain that he would be a good leader or not.

  “I’m honestly not sure if Trump will be a good president; it’s too early to say right now,” said junior Julien Sheetz.

  Many polls have suggested that Americans have a divided opinion on Trump. As of November 11, around 51 percent of Americans think that Trump will be a good president.

  Although, many Americans and students would argue that Trump would make a great leader, often citing his policies on the economy and industry, among others.

  “I think Trump would make a great leader since his policies would set up our country for greatness,” said an anonymous junior.

  Equally, people would argue that he would not fit the role. Many are against his isolationist ideals and his policies towards immigrants.

  “Trump wouldn’t be a good figure for America since he promotes so much hatred and division,” said junior Brandon Espinosa.

  Despite this, again America cannot know for certain that Trump would “Make America Great Again”. Considering how different the world was from 2016 compared to now, how Trump will manage our country is unknown.

  For Tigers who are either happy or upset about our new president, remember that things are still up in the air.
