Popular video game among students at San Luis Obispo High School “God of War” has added a new name to its series. “God of War: Ragnarok”, the 2022 sequel to the acclaimed 2018 release, is one of the highest-rated games in the last few years.
The game has strayed from its original path from Greek mythology and has moved on to Norse mythology. Its main focus in the new sequel is Ragnarok. Ragnarok is the end of the entire worlds and realms in Norse mythology, which has now been brought to video game form.
“I think it’s going to be the new gateway into gaming in the future,” said senior Max McGraw.
The game is a breath of fresh air from other games that were released in the last couple of years with its good graphics and quality story.
“It looks like a big improvement on the last one, I think from where the story left off, in 2018. I think it’s gonna be a really big improvement in terms of tech that the PS5 is able to handle” said McGraw.
The PS5 that the game has come out on can up the graphics from the last game, allowing for even smoother gameplay and textures.
“The first thing I love about God of War is the great story and amazing and fun gameplay. Also, the gameplay never gets boring or repetitive because every new place you visit there are new enemies to fight that you’ve never seen before!” said senior Vincent Ordonez.
The enemies are different in nearly every realm players traverse in the game. With each realm, the enemies have their own weaknesses and strengths for players to learn and adapt to as well.
“God of War: Ragnarok” is a groundbreaking new step into the future of gaming. With the ending of the game, it’s already been foretold of what is still to come. People can look forward to the future of “God of War” leading the charge in new and well-developed games of the future.
