The first running shoes were simple, rubber and cloth, however each year running shoes are becoming more and more advanced, and for San Luis Obispo High School’s runners, quality matters. The Nike Air Zoom Pegasus 39s feature many of Nike’s latest running technologies while remaining a relatively simplistic do-it-all shoe. The Nike Air Zoom 39 is the most versatile, and best all around shoe currently available.
“As far as injury prevention and performance I know I can trust them,” said senior Leo Young.
The Pegasuses are really lightweight and make use of 2 airbags at the front and back of the shoe to make them lighter, and use react midsole foam in the middle. The shoes are very durable and well built, and super lightweight and comfortable.
Despite all this, some people argue that because the shoe is ‘good’ at everything, it doesn’t excel in any category, thus making it a bad choice because of how personal running shoes need to fit a runner’s feet perfectly.
“To be honest they would just hurt my feet,” said junior Cade Backlin.
The Pegasuses, while not perfect, offer the most versatility out of any running shoe and make it easy for anyone to get into running.
