At San Luis Obispo High School, Thanksgiving break has just begun. Though it’s a little late in the month, now is the perfect time to take advantage of The Greater Good’s Happiness Calendar for November.
The Happiness Calendar is centered around being grateful for the small things in life and making sure to do self care. This calendar has an activity for every day of the year, but November’s calendar in particular is all about holding on to the good in life and having hope for the future.
“I think this is a great resource for both students and staff. There are small things that everyone can do during the day and it doesn’t take much time,” said councilor Chris Inman.
Whether it’s being more productive and taking half an hour to clean the house or practicing self care and taking a few minutes to breathe, this happiness calendar can be a good source of routine and security throughout the month.
According to Harvard Medical School, in positive psychology research, gratitude is very strongly associated with greater happiness. Gratitude can help people feel more positive emotions, focus on good experiences, improve mental health, and help build strong relationships.
By taking part in following this calendar, you can not only make the month of November better, but you can improve your life.
