Disney+, HBO, Netflix, and Hulu: these are some of the top streaming websites today. Though they have become essentials in many students’ households, are they worth your time and money? Expressions asked San Luis Obispo High School students to share their opinions and help decide what is worth the buy.
Expressions: Do you use a streaming device?
Junior Berlyn Ellsworth: Yeah, I use multiple, mainly on my laptop and phone; I have Netflix, Hulu, HBOmax, and Disney+.
Junior Lauren Anderson: Yeah, I have Netflix, Disney+, and Hulu.
Expressions: What site, in your opinion, is best for movies?
Anderson: I usually use netflix, but with my family we most of the time use Hulu.
Ellsworth: I kinda think Hulu sucks for movies. I think Netflix has a better variety of movies, but Disney+ has the classics that Netflix doesn’t.
Expressions: Netflix has a starting price of $9.99, Hulu’s is $5.99, HBOmax has a starting price of $14.99, and finally Disney+ starts with the price of $6.99 per month. Which sites are worth the monthly fee?
Anderson: I believe that the best and most worth-it sites are Netflix and Disney+. They have the largest variety of both shows and movies for a reasonable price.
Ellsworth: I agree, the two best streaming platforms are Netflix and Disney +. However, HBO has “Euphoria” and “Game of Thrones,” two very popular shows that are both worth binging.
Expressions: Overall, without prices in mind what is the best streaming service?
Ellsworth: Definitely Netflix, no doubt.
Anderson: Netflix, best for sure.
