Throughout high school, many students participate in sports, but few continue to play the sport while in college. San Luis Obispo High School senior Renn Duncan has been playing baseball since age eight and now at age eighteen Duncan will be continuing to play baseball for Westmont College in Santa Barbara, California. Although this is Duncan’s first year at SLOHS, he enjoys playing for the tiger baseball team more than playing at his past high school, Mission Prep.
“I have wanted to go to Westmont since eighth grade, and last year they started recruiting me for baseball when I went to Mission. They offered me a scholarship to play baseball and I said yes,” said Duncan.
Currently Westmont is ranked eighth in the country part of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletes (NAIA). Duncan is the catcher on the SLOHS baseball team and hopes to continue this position at Westmont. He is planning to major in chemistry and couldn’t be more excited to transfer from a SLOHS Tiger to a Westmont Warrior.
