Have you ever wanted to make ice cream yourself instead of going out to buy some? Is mint chocolate chip ice cream your favorite?
If either of those questions resonates with you, this is the recipe for you.
With these basic ingredients, you can make your very own sweet, cold treat.
Here are the ingredients and equipment you will need:
- 1 cup whole milk, well chilled
- ¾ cup granulated sugar
- 2 cups heavy cream, well chilled
- 1.5-2 tsp peppermint extract, or to taste
- 4 oz semi-sweet chocolate bar, chopped into tiny pieces
- Special Equipment: Ice cream maker
To make the process easier, here are the steps to make this mint chocolate chip delicacy:
- In a bowl, use a whisk to combine milk and sugar until dissolved. Stir in heavy cream and peppermint. Turn the ice cream maker on, pour the mixture in, and let churn for about 25 minutes.
- During the last 5 minutes of churning, slowly add in chopped chocolate. Transfer ice cream to an airtight container for at least 2-3 hours before enjoying it (if you can wait that long.)
If you want to have bright green ice cream just for the fun of it, grab some food coloring and add that in as well. Happy ice cream making, Tigers!
