Are there any Tigers interested in joining a club at San Luis Obispo High School? On September 13, SLOHS will be setting up their annual Club Rush for those interested in participating in school clubs.
Students and staff from a variety of clubs, sports, and extracurricular activities are using this event as an opportunity to showcase themselves and try to attract new students. Many clubs have also taken their time to set up snacks, candies, games, and posters to attract the eye.
“Club Rush started about eight years ago, and is a simple and effective concept. ASB puts tables out at lunch, and SLOHS clubs show what they are about! Expect to see about thirty to forty tables,” said English teacher and Newspaper advisor Scott Nairne.
Club Rush will be taking place in the quad during lunch time for all grades to come tour around the tables.
“I enjoy Club Rush. I think it gives everyone an opportunity to view what’s offered to those on campus. Personally, I’m able to explore aspects of the school and student activities that I wouldn’t have thought about before. In addition, I think the table activities to be put on are especially creative and exciting,” said sophomore Kylee Santos.
Club Rush has already been taking their time to set up interesting activities to hook SLOHS students into their club.
“I plan on taking advantage of Club Rush because I want to sign up for FFA. I think that Club Rush should be something to be taking advantage of because it will most likely be easier to sign up for something during it than looking for a club on your own time,” said freshman London Sutton.
Make sure to be on the lookout for anything of interest, Tigers! Remember, this event happens once a year!
