With homecoming week kicking off, many students are gearing up for five days full of spirit events and activities. Among the festivities is the homecoming parade, led by the student nominated Grand Marshal. This year’s Grand Marshal will be named on Friday, October 9 at the spirit rally held during fifth period. This year’s nominees are English teacher Craig Stewart, Theatre and Advanced Placement European History teacher Kate Stephens, American Sign Language and English teacher Kristen Nusbaum, and Agriculture Integrated Science teacher Anna Bates.
“It’s definitely an honor and I love that the students thought of me as someone who is a good representative of our school,” said Stephens. The competition for the title of Grand Marshal is a little bit different this year. All the nominees are teachers, compared to previous years, where the nominees included support staff and even the renowned Tiger Bill.
“All the other teachers are awesome,” said Stewart, “almost as awesome as I am.” With the abundance of stellar teachers at San Luis Obispo High School, who really knows which one of the nominees will lead the tigers through the streets of San Luis Obispo?
