  Music is one of the most important parts of the lives of San Luis Obispo High School students, with everyone having a different opinion on it. Expressions interviewed multiple students to see which musicians the student body thinks are overrated and underrated.

Expressions: Who is an overrated artist?

Junior Mireya Acuna Uribe: Playboy cardi, Da Baby and most of the popular rappers.

Sophomore Nora Cullen: Kanye West. Obviously.

Junior Jamie Collins: I feel like Steve Lacey is a little bit overrated. He makes good music, but like, he’s not like the next top musician, he had like three good songs. Now like now everybody’s like going crazy over him and l certain rappers Lil Baby I feel like they’re overrated they have a few good hits and then other than the rest, they kind of sound the same.

Expressions: Who is an underrated artist?

Acuna Uribe: Kpop artists and rock bands, like a lot of people hate Deftones. I don’t know why Deftones is really good. I think Motionless in White is pretty good too. Yeah.

Cullen: He’s very popular, but Harry Styles, I just think his music just so incredible. Also Phoebe Bridgers.

Collins: I really like Cardi B. I feel like lately, there’s been a lot of hate on her and she’s been pretty underrated. Like she’s awesome. She always has like, a good vibe and her songs don’t sound the same. Like it’s like she always has a different beat and always has a different feel with each one of her songs.

  Everyone has a different taste in music from country music to hip-hop everyone likes certain genres, albums, and artists.
