The COVID-19 pandemic sparked many new interests in San Luis Obispo High School students, one of those being listening to podcasts.  A podcast worth listening to for car enthusiasts is Cars Uncensored.  This podcast goes into depth on the releases of new cars and presents opinions on automotive aspects like styling, performance, and value.

  Hosted by Shahbaz and Farhan, two brothers that grew up and live in Detroit Michigan, or the “Motor City”, they share their opinions on the automotive industry.

  In the episode “Is the Hyundai Ioniq 5 on Tesla’s Level?”, the brothers explore the ins and outs of the newly released Hyundai Ioniq 5 and compare it to the already established and renowned Tesla Model Y.  While they are prone to tangents (a common ailment of car enthusiasts), you’ll forgive them when you hear their opinions in episodes like this one.

  Not only do they have interesting opinions on cars and the automotive industry as a whole, but they also have the unique opportunity to see many of the cars they talk about in person or on the road because of where they live.  Detroit is a major hotspot for the car industry as it is the home of major car companies like Ford, General Motors, and Chrysler, so they often see concept cars or vehicles that are still in testing on the roads. This gives them a major advantage over other automotive podcasters.

  Overall, “Cars Uncensored” is a quality podcast for automotive enthusiasts that blends opinion with fact and real-world experiences to create an entertaining and informative podcast, and it’s all uncensored.  If a student were at all interested in the automotive industry or the car scene, “Cars Uncensored” is the place to go.
