In the golden age of technology, it is becoming easier and easier for San Luis Obispo High School students to distance themselves from their peers and lose themselves in the electronic void of likes and retweets. Recently, however, a new form of social media has been created in an attempt to reconnect young men and women to the people they once held close.
Friendo is a new app compatible with Android and iOS in which friends from all over the world are able to add each other and play games to discover how well they really know another. Taking after games like Words with Friends, Trivia Crack, and Game Pigeon, Freindo allows people to connect in a fun way while getting to know each other better from any two locations.
“It’s cool to be able to find out little things about my friends that I never knew before. Friendo is one of the very few forms of social media that make it hard for people to feel bad about themselves since there are no likes or anything, its just between you and your close friends,” said junior Sterling Lauritzen.
In order to play, one person starts a game with one of their friends they have previously added. Then, the same person is presented with a question about their opinion on something random and given three options to chose which they most agree with. Next, the other player tries to guess the answer that the first person picked based off of knowing their personality, and is presented with a question for his or herself which their partner will then try to guess and the cycle continues.
