With 2016 coming to an end, we must take a moment to look back at all of the fallen memes (a humorous image, video, or piece of text that spreads rapidly by Internet users) of the year.
“I think that dead memes are like fashion trends, some will stay and some will go,” said senior Alex Tappen. Many memes will have a short lived life in the spotlight then fall into the pit – we call these dead memes.
“I don’t believe in dead memes; I feel they are eternal. Long live the memes,” said junior Natalie Shaouat.
It truly is a mystery how some memes are started, but it is inevitable that they all must come to an end.
“I express myself through memes, a life without memes is a life I don’t want to live, in fact, I don’t want to live at all,” said junior Regan Lyon.
