San Luis Obispo High School senior Dylan Brunick is well known around campus as being one of the most avid skaters in our school. You can usually find him riding the Snake Run (mostly skating tranny (bowls) at the San Luis Obispo Skate Park, or shredding up the Figure 8 bowl at the Los Osos Park.
“I started skating when I was about eight. My dad got me a skateboard for Christmas and I just started skating in my driveway. I got a little more into it when the new SLO park opened because I found myself skating there every day after school. I like it because it’s a creative sport with so many different possibilities of tricks to do,” said Brunick.
As of now, Brunick’s best trick is either a “backside smith grind to a backside board slide,” or an “ollie sex change.” He said that he is trying to master an “early grab 360” down.
Next year, Brunick will be attending Cuesta in the fall and eventually transferring to University of California Santa Cruise as an Arts major. He hopes to concentrate on photography.
