Ceramics is one of the many visual arts classes offered at San Luis Obispo High School. While many people take it to graduate, there are others who thoroughly enjoy the class and what it has to offer. At the end of every trimester ceramics teachers Deborah Sanz and Amanda Eedle put their students’ work on display in the showcase outside of the attendance office until the end of the second trimester.
“I was excited because usually in art classes you just take your work home and it’s nice to have people appreciate the artwork you’ve made,” said senior Tessa Boone was asked how she felt about her projects being on display.
“For the kids who were willing to let me keep their work I wanted to showcase their efforts, their creativity, and their hard work by creating the display with Sanz. I really pushed the students to think independently this trimester, and pushed them to create art that was meaningful to them, and I feel that they not only grasped this concept but produced work that they can be proud of,” said Eedle.
If you happen to pass by the showcase, give it a quick look. You might find something you really like, and the artists always appreciate a nice compliment about their piece.
