The San Luis Obispo High School’s Powder Puff game is coming up. It will be on May 31 on the Holt field.
“Powderpuff is a flag football game with girls going against other girls and the boys cheering,” said freshman Natalie Testerman.
This event is free of cost, students just need to show up and cheer for their favorite grade!
Usually sophomores go against freshmen and seniors go against juniors. For those interested in playing a game of football against, here’s a heads up for next year’s sign ups.
“I signed up for powderpuff because I play football myself,” said freshman Sarah Ponce.
For students who are not looking to participate, they can still come and support their friends.
Even though playing football against a bunch of aggressive girls that want to win Powder Puff can be scary, it also can build strong friendships with people one would’ve never thought to talk to.
“I love working with all the girls there, they’re all super nice. I think it builds a really good environment because everybody’s working with one another and we encourage each other. Everyone is always motivating one another and overall being supportive and kind to each other,” said sophomore Linda Rojas.
The girls participating in Powder Puff get five practices to prepare for the big day. They work really hard to try to be the best they can and beat whoever they’re playing. It’s important to show support for these girls since they have been working so hard.
This game is going to be a fun one to watch, so be there, Tigers!
